Free Speech

Free Speech

Citizens for Free Speech (CFFS) is established to promote and enable the practical exercise of Free Speech in communities across America. The battle for the mind being waged at the national level with tightly controlled and biased media, is legendary and generally repulsive to American citizens. However, the remedy is not found at the national level, but rather in our local communities.

The First Amendment states,

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Note that Freedom of Speech is nestled between the 'free exercise' of religion, the right to peaceably assemble and the right to petition the Government to redress grievances. The writers clearly intended to link Free Speech to purposeful actions, and especially within peaceable assemblies for the purpose of redressing grievances. Free Speech was never intended to be just a mental exercise, but rather a practical and outward expression of your thoughts and opinions. Free Speech was never intended to be the right to shoot off one's mouth with irresponsible or vulgar rhetoric.

Free Speech finds its true application in your own local community. If it is not exercised, it shrivels. This is the exact reason local activism is in tatters: People of sound mind have shirked their responsibility to sound off.
